‘Sinners’ Stars On Finding Their Voices For The Vampire Film

In the new Southern gothic vampire film, Sinners, actors Jack O’Connell and Jayme Lawson portray two characters who have found their voice. With O’Connell’s bloodthirsty Remmick, O’Connell learned how to sing in preparation to play the smooth-talking main villain and leader of his new vampire coven. For Lawson, as the repressed Pearline, she also learned to sing to portray her character’s journey throughout the evening from coy to gorgeously feral. They both had to find their own voices, not only when it came to singing, but when it came to holding their own in a stunning ensemble cast.

We spoke with Lawson and O’Connell about learning how to sing for Sinners, performing while sick, and more.
