NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) – It’s official. Country star Luke Bryan has canceled his show for this Friday, June 27 in North Platte.
Bryan was scheduled to perform at the Wild West Arena this Friday for the first night of the Viaero Wireless Summer Jam Concert Series.
Speculation began to swirl as to whether or not Bryan would still perform after he postponed two shows in Lafayette and Dallas last week due to illness.
NEBRASKAland Days officials announced Wednesday that Bryan’s friend Eric Church, joined by Joanna Cotten, will be stepping in to headline the Friday night concert.
Bryan shared the news directly to fans on social media noting, “I’m really sorry to say I won’t be able to play this weekend’s shows due to continued illness. I’ve been hoping to rally, but my voice is just not there yet. Huge thanks to my buddy Eric Church for stepping in last minute-and of course, putting on a kick ass show like he always does. Sitting still not what I do best so I can’t wait to be back soon. – Love y’all, Luke.”
Bailey Zimmerman is set to headline Saturday’s show.
All tickets purchased for the original Luke Bryan show will be honored for Eric Church’s performance. No exchanges are necessary. For those that would rather have a refund, NEBRASKAland Days will honor a refund request until 5 p.m. on June 25.
Tickets for both Church and Zimmerman are still available online and at the Wild West Arena Office.
