The Open Championship is right around the corner, but first the PGA Tour’s best are in Illinois for the 2025 John Deere Classic, and a former major champion is among the betting favorites. Here is everything you need to know about the John Deere Classic odds and other betting favorites to start the week.
John Deere Classic betting favorites
Heading into this week’s John Deere Classic, 2015 PGA champion Jason Day is among the betting favorites, with odds-to-win starting at +2200.
Day has 13 PGA Tour wins in his career, but over the last several years he’s dealt with injuries. In 2023, he broke a five-year win drought with a victory at the AT&T Byron Nelson.
But despite coming close several times, he has not won since then. This week presents a great opportunity to get back into the winner’s circle.
Davis Thompson, Sepp Straka, J.T. Poston win after staying in same house at John Deere Classic
J.T. Poston (2022), Sepp Straka (2023) and Davis Thompson (2024) have won the last three John Deere Classic titles after staying in the same house the week in which they won. The house has been dubbed the ‘Trophy House’ due to the recent history of champions.
But to do so, he’ll have to get past the outright betting favorite at the John Deere Classic, Ben Griffin (+1600).
In April, Griffin teamed up with Andrew Novak to win the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, his first victory on Tour. One month later, Griffin captured his first solo win at the Charles Schwab Challenge.
Coming in third in the pre-tournament odds is Si Woo Kim at +3000 odds-to-win. Denny McCarthy and J.T. Poston are knotted in fourth at +3250.
