From Homelessness To Comedy Stardom, Zarna Garg Recounts Journey In Memoir

A US-based Indian stand-up comedian, Zarna Garg, recently posted on Instagram about her ongoing setbacks and eventual triumph while promoting her memoir. From escaping an arranged marriage at 14 to battling decades of setbacks before finally finding her footing as a comedian, Garg shared it all in her memoir titled, ‘This American Woman: A One-in-a-Billion Memoir’. She shared how she was abandoned by her wealthy father, had to migrate to America, married, raised children, and only later began pursuing her dream of becoming a stand-up comic.

And the struggles didn’t end there. Zarna also revealed that she faced homelessness, her husband was laid off from his job, and unbelievably, she tried, and failed, at 18 different businesses before her big break.

Sharing her story with a dash of humor and grit, she wrote, “If you need a laugh, a cry, a kick in the pants, a wake-up call, inspiration, motivation or a table weight – I’ve got you.

She kicked off her post with, “How I became an overnight success (after decades of quietly failing).”
