BRIGHTON, Mass. (theACC.com) – No. 2 seed Clemson scored eight runs in the sixth inning to rally from a seven-run deficit and top No. 3 Virginia Tech, 10-9, in game 10 of the 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference Softball Championship on Friday, May 9, to clinch a spot in the title game.
This will be Clemson’s third appearance, and the first appearance back since falling to Florida State, 8-6, in the 2022 title game.
The Clemson offense was led by Aby Vieira and Taylor Pipkins with two hits apiece, and Julia Knowler and Marian Collins with 2 RBIs a piece. The Tigers totaled seven hits and eight RBIs.
Virginia Tech pitches walked 13 batters in the game, including six in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Hokies held a 9-3 lead with two outs in the sixth before walking four straight batters and hitting a batter, which forced in the tying run. Knowler then drew a walk to push across the go-ahead run.
The Tigers advanced to the championship game to take on No-1 seed Florida State on Saturday, May 10, at 2:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
