The day has finally arrived and it will be the biggest day in many young hockey players’ lives.
The 2025 NHL Draft begins tonight with round one starting at 7 P.M. Eastern.
Rounds 2-7 will take place on Saturday, starting at noon, Eastern.
Right now the Canes own six picks, the 29th, 87th, 125th, 183rd, 189th, and 221st.
Of course this is all subject to change as the team is known for swapping picks for more picks.
This will be the first year of the “decentralized” draft as the Carolina brass will be making their selections off location, from Lenovo Headquarters. We will see how that goes.
The team also has a spot for local media at “headquarters” and I will be there and will provide any notable updates in the thread.
You never know what will happen at these events, sometimes it is a big nothing burger, other times there is plenty of drama.
