This year’s event will feature character greetings, as usual, like Jack Skellington and Sally. However, this couple in particular will get a new look for the Halloween party season.

New for this year, Mickey and Minnie will meet at Town Square Theater together in their Halloween costumes for the first time ever. More character encounters, including those wearing special costumes for Halloween, will be announced at a later date.

This show will feature projections on Cinderella Castle alongside fireworks in the sky above. Villains featured in the show include Ursula, the Queen of Hearts, and Oogie Boogie.

Trick or treating will be available at over a dozen treat trail stops in the park. This year, guests will encounter some “familiar (and fiendish) faces” along the trails.

Each guest will receive a complimentary treat bag for candy collecting. Guests with food allergies can grab a teal bag from a Cast Member and collect teal tokens along the trail to redeem for allergy-free candy at Allergy-Friendly Centers.

Trick or treaters will not have to wear a costume to get candy, but guests are encouraged to dress up in creative Halloween costumes. You can read Disney’s official costume guidelines for more details.

Ride Overlays

Ride overlays will return this year, with the following attractions getting spooky music, special effects, and more added:

  • Experience Space Mountain in pitch-black darkness with a spooky soundtrack
  • At Mad Tea Party, enjoy special lighting effects
  • Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor will offer fun jokes with a Halloween twist
