Geodis Park to host international soccer match between Mexico and South Korea in September


Geodis Park will host an international soccer friendly match between Mexico and South Korea on Sept. 9.

The game is part of MexTour 2025, the Mexican national team’s annual tour of the United States. Other games on the MexTour include friendlies against Switzerland (June 7 in Salt Lake City), Turkey (June 10 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina) and Japan (Sept. 6, Oakland, California).

The Mexico-South Korea will kick off at 8 p.m. CT and be televised by Univision/TUDN and Fox Deportes.

Mexico has never played at Geodis Park, the home stadium of Nashville SC, since it opened in 2022. El Tri last played in Nashville on June 30, 2021, when it defeated Panama 3-0 at Nissan Stadium.

Mexico has played two other games in Nashville, both at Nissan Stadium. It defeated New Zealand in a friendly on Oct. 8, 2016 and lost to the United States 1-0 in a friendly on Sept. 11, 2018, with 40,194 fans in attendance.

The match will be the third men’s international match to take place at Geodis, which hosted the USMNT’s 4-0 win over Ghana on Oct. 17, 2023 and will host a friendly between the U.S. and Switzerland on June 10 (7 p.m., TNT).

Mexico is ranked 17th and South Korea is 23rd in the most recent FIFA world rankings.
