It’s time for the start of another month of Spotlight cards in Diamond Dynasty. This program will be overlooked with a wave of other content launching today, including Ted Williams and the Summer Series, but it’s a glue program that helps you with various collections and rewards while usually showcasing players who otherwise may never get cards.
As always, it’s a matter of trying to wade through the morass and see if any of the cards are worth your time, and I think a couple fit that mold for Week 1. Specifically, two of the free cards and one of the cards from the Spotlight pack.

The two free cards worth scoping out are the Topps Now Jac Caglianone and Spotlight Hunter Goodman. Caglianone is a low-end 1B option with a very solid bat who does not need to be platooned. There are so many options at corner OF and 1B, but it’s better than usual for a Topps Now hitter.
Spotlight Hunter Goodman is just a downright good catcher and worthy reward for finishing Week 1. He has 70 speed, and while the defense isn’t great, he does not need to be platooned and his weaker side still has 88 contact and 90 power (against lefties). He also has 105 clutch and can play 1B or corner OF if you don’t want him at catcher.
June Drop 5 Spotlight Cards

It’s a good and bad thing here where I don’t think the top two cards are really worth your time, so at least it saves you some Stubs. I like Rasmussen’s Live Series for Battle Royale at time, but him and Pasquantino don’t have amazing ratings.
However, Tim Elko sports 97 power vs. RHP and 107 power vs. LHP and has 3B eligibility beyond his 1B primary. The vision is low and the clutch is 92, but he’s a card that could clean up on All-Star, and the White Sox need some wins, okay? Otherwise, Ceddanne Rafaela is a little fun with insane defensive ratings (and 2B and SS eligibility beyond primary CF) but with only 85 speed he might not be quite worth throwing in a niche all-defense lineup.
