Still, the spotty nature of the heavier rain will lead to inconsistent rain totals from on community to the next, ranging from a few tenths to more than an inch through Friday evening. For now, the severe thunderstorm threats appear to stay west of North Carolina on Thursday. Elevated thunderstorms will be possible on Friday.
