- Reports of a Reddit outage started to peak around 2:30 p.m. ET.
Thousands of users reported the social media forum Reddit was down on June 3, but outages are nearly over after the mid-afternoon spike, according to tracking sites including Downdetector.
According to Downdetector, a platform for online service status information, the amount of outages globally peaked at 2:36 p.m. with 30,677 reported outages,
That was a jump of more than 4,000 outages in just two minutes, based on reports within the previous 24 hours.
From there, Reddit outages decreased rapidly within the next hour. About 24,030 outages were recorded as of 2:57 p.m., and then 15 minutes later, there were 2,243 reported outages reported at 3:12 p.m. Only 410 outages were filed at 3:42 p.m. in Downdetector’s data.
Accounts on X, formerly Twitter, posted tweets asking other users if Reddit is down.
Reddit had not yet addressed the reported outages via its social media accounts on X, Instagram or Facebook as of 4 p.m. on June 3.
