Tigers lineup: Wenceel Perez starting in center field in 2025 debut

DETROIT — Wenceel Perez will start in center field for the Detroit Tigers in his 2025 debut on Tuesday night.

The Tigers (35-20) play the San Francisco Giants (31-23) at 6:40 p.m. at Comerica Park.

Perez was reinstated from the 60-day injured list before the game.

Catcher Jake Rogers; infielder Andy Ibanez; infielder/outfielder Zach McKinstry; and outfielder Justyn-Henry Malloy will be available off the bench. The full lineup is below.

On the mound, Tigers right-hander Jack Flaherty (2-6, 4.39 ERA) will face Giants righty Logan Webb (5-4, 2.67 ERA).

Webb debuted in 2019 and has been an elite starter since 2021, but this will be just his second career appearance at Comerica Park. In his first start on Aug. 24, 2022, he didn’t allow a hit through four innings before surrendering six runs in the fifth on a walk, four singles, and two doubles.

Flaherty pitched into the seventh inning for the first time this season and threw a season-high 108 pitches in his last start on May 22 against Cleveland.
