Superman has already found his Lois Lane.
David Corenswet, who starred as the Man of Steel in James Gunn’s 2025 film Superman, met his wife, actress Julia Best Warner, at a summer theater program in Pennsylvania when they were teenagers. Their love was a “slow burn” before they got married in 2023.
That same year, the couple found out they were expecting their first child — just as Corenswet was in the final stages of the Superman audition process, he told PEOPLE in June 2025.
“She told me that she was pregnant two days after I found out I was going to screen test for Superman,” says Corenswet. “For the first several months of her pregnancy, as is sort of protocol, we weren’t telling anybody. We had these two quite huge secrets that we just had between the two of us.”
They welcomed their first child the following year in 2024.
So, who is David Corenswet’s wife? Here’s everything to know about Julia Best Warner and her relationship with the actor.

Corenswet and Warner hail from the same state. She was raised in Villanova, Pa., she told Theater in the Now in September 2014.
After graduating from Radnor High School in Wayne, Pa., Warner moved to Pittsburgh, where she studied acting at Point Park University, per her LinkedIn. From there, she landed her first feature-length film, Pretty Little Things, in 2012, according to her IMDb.

Corenswet first crossed paths with Warner when he was younger, he told PEOPLE. As teenagers, they were both students at Upper Darby Summer Stage, a Pennsylvania summer theater program also attended by Tina Fey and Monica Horan.
“I made many of my closest friends and most cherished performance memories on — and off — the stage at Upper Darby Summer Stage,” Corenswet told Broadway World in a June 2025 statement celebrating the program’s 50th season. “But more than that I learned a valuable lesson about life and career: dream of the leading role, compete hard for it, then let it go and enjoy the chorus.”
He continued, “You may have your solo moments center stage in life, but if you’re lucky, you’ll spend most of your time surrounded by a chorus of friends and family, singing in harmony together.”

Like her husband, Warner is also in the entertainment business. After graduating with her bachelor’s degree in 2013, she went on to appear in series like Deadly Devotion and The Baby Sitters Pub.
In 2020, Warner played a nurse on the Sarah Paulson-led Netflix horror series Ratched.
According to her Instagram bio, Warner is also a producer.

Corenswet and Warner wed in March 2023 at the Immaculate Conception church in New Orleans, their rabbi told The Times of Israel a few months later in August 2023.
Corenswet, who is Jewish, and Warner, who is Catholic, honored both of their religions with an interfaith ceremony that included a chuppah and the breaking of the glass.
“The bride and groom were just so determined to intersperse the Jewish traditions with the Catholic traditions, which to me just enhanced the beauty and the strength of both faiths,” wedding coordinator Julie Vanderbrook told the outlet.

Throughout Warner’s pregnancy, Corenswet was preparing to play the titular role in Superman.
“She gained about 40 pounds while she was pregnant and in the same period I gained about 40 pounds gaining weight for Superman,” he told PEOPLE in June 2025. “I started snoring and had to use her pregnancy pillow.”
Right around the time that he started filming the movie in 2024, Warner gave birth to their first child. Corenswet told PEOPLE that he felt like he’d “been a dad for a long time” and was “just waiting for a kid to prove it.”
“My dad was an enthusiastic father … and was very good with kids,” he said. “And so I think I just inherited that. I liked being a camp counselor, and I have terrible jokes that nobody laughs at.”
The couple also share a Cavalier King Charles spaniel named Ira Grrrshwin, who has her own Instagram account. In April 2024, the couple shared a portrait of the dog with the caption, “headshot that got me cast as Lois Lane.”
Corenswet described the pup to PEOPLE as “less of a doggy, more of a toddler.”

Though Corenswet had his doubts that he would land the iconic role, he said that his wife believed in him from the beginning.
“She helped me make my first self-tape for the part, and she felt at that point that I should get the part,” he told PEOPLE. “I thought she was crazy, but she felt it from the beginning. So if anything, I knew that she would be even more excited than I was.”
