May the Force be with all the gamers today, as the mega-popular video game Fortnite launches an interstellar collaboration for its new season.
Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 is a collaboration with Disney+’s “Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld.” The two are coming together ahead of the premiere of the next tales from the ‘Star Wars’ universe in an event called Fortnite Galactic Battle, Fortnite’s first entirely Star Wars-themed Battle Royale Season.
And to kick it off, fans and players have an early, in-game premiere of “Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld” before it hits Disney+.
“For the first time, Disney+ is premiering a show inside a game, launching alongside our largest Star Wars collaboration with Fortnite to date — giving fans and players an exciting first look at the kinds of experiences they can expect as we shape a new future together,” said Sean Shoptaw, Executive Vice President, Disney Games & Digital Entertainment. “We’re building the next era of digital entertainment, where fans can play, watch, create and connect — and we’re just beginning to tap into what’s possible.”

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 ends on Friday, May 2 at 1 a.m. CT. The servers are typically down for two to five hours before the new season becomes available.
The video game is expected to be back sometime in the morning of Friday, May 2.

Chapter 6 Season 3 of Fortnite, called “Galactic Battle,” will launch Friday, May 2, likely in the morning.

What’s new in ‘Fortnite: Galactic Battle’?
Players will be able to get to do a deep dive into the “Star Wars” universe and play as Darth Jar Jar or Emperor Palpatine, while piloting ships like X-wings and TIE Fighters.
Gamers also get to battle Stormtroopers using blasters and lightsabers in-game.

Fortnite players can get the First Order Stormtrooper outfit by linking their Epic Games and MyDisney accounts. This is available now.
The collaboration between Epic Games and Disney also means that more features will be available in the future.

Players will be able to watch two episodes of “Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld” starting at 9 a.m. CT on Friday, May 2, at the in-game “Star Wars” Watch Party Island.
