Woman links serial road rage suspect to ‘unprovoked’ attack at an Oahu gym

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A new victim is stepping forward sharing details of a heated encounter at an Oahu gym with a man dubbed the serial “Tesla Road Rage Driver.”

Fearing for her safety, she spoke to Hawaii News Now on the condition of anonymity.

She says she was working out at Planet Fitness Kahala on Good Friday when she was threatened by a man she later learned was Nathaniel Radimak, 38.

“I walked past the machine he was using and he came up behind me and said, ‘Hey do me a favor. Don’t ever — walk past my machine when I’m using it again.’”

Shocked at what she heard in that moment, which she says was completely unprovoked, the woman stood her ground.

“I’m not one to be spoken to like that, so I just said, ‘Don’t talk to me like that.’ And then he said, ‘You wanna try me —? I’ll sock you right in your — face.’”

That’s when she took out her phone to record. As tension quickly mounted, the man then took a swing at the woman, alarming bystanders.

She said he was dangerously close to striking her, but missed.

“It happened so quick. I saw him getting close to me so I was automatically, I guess in defense mode,” she said.

After the run-in, the woman used a screenshot of the video to do an image search of the man. His face was matched with headlines of Nathaniel Radimak, who was convicted in Southern California in a string of road-rage attacks.

He was sentenced to a five-year term, but out on parole after just 10 months.

The 38-year-old then made headlines on Oahu after an assault on May 7 in Kakaako. According to court records, he allegedly assaulted two women who were parallel parking on Halekauwila Street.

“I heard somebody say ‘Slow down’ or ‘Hey!’ I couldn’t really hear it, but that’s what it sounded like,” Guy Martinez of Honolulu Bimmer said.

His security cameras captured the assault.

“A few seconds later, I saw the car make a U-turn and come back and then I saw the guy go across the street and reach into the car. Looked like he punched her,” Martinez said.

On Monday, Radimak appeared in court on unrelated traffic charges.

Following his appearance, he was later charged with three felony offenses for the May 7 attack: first-degree unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, and two counts of third-degree assault.

As for the woman who shared the frightening Planet Fitness encounter with Radimak, she hopes he will remain locked up.

“I wanted him to be caught and I did not want him to hurt another woman because I knew it was just a matter of time if no one did anything, he was going to do it again,” she said.

Radimak is expected to appear in court on the new felony charges on Thursday. It’s unclear at this point if he will be extradited back to California for possible parole violations.

He remains behind bars with bail set at $100,000.
